Byron Hancock was born in Florida and after graduating from Cornell University settled in New York working in premium off-premises catering. He moved to California in 1987 and wanted to combine top-tier client care with a passion for entrepreneurship using his business acumen. Mainly, he wanted to help people solve problems and pursue their own dreams in a deep and lasting way. After a short stint as a mortgage broker, a career counselor saw how both his skills and desires could align with a career in financial services, and in 1987 on the day of the stock market crash, Byron started foundational training with a life insurance company.
In 1991, he became a Certified Financial Planner™ and in 1995 went independent, retaining LPL Financial as his Broker/Dealer and opening an office on Montgomery Street in San Francisco. In 2010, Byron earned the AIF® (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) designation, and in early 2011 he opened his office in the Wine Country. The Wine Country is beautiful though fire-prone, and he relocated to Palm Springs, CA early in 2021.
Utilizing various service models and platforms, along with a virtual team of specialized associates, the dedicated staff at HANCOCK PARTNERS is committed to delivering dynamic, value-focused wealth management strategies with client-centered financial planning approaches serving Business Owners, Pre-Retirees, and Retirees.
Byron holds a Bachelor of Science from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University and Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 securities registrations held with LPL Financial where he is an Investment Advisor Representative (IAR). He also holds an active California Life & Health insurance license.
Outside of the office, in Sonoma, Byron was President of the Rotary Club of Sonoma Valley where he spearheaded the introduction of Junior Achievement into the local school system. In Palm Springs, he is an active member of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, Desert Business Association, Palm Springs Art Museum, and a regular supporter of The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert, Human Rights Campaign, Palm Springs Animal Shelter, and Lambda Legal.
Byron is excited about his 2021 relocation to Palm Springs with Len, his partner of over 40 years and husband of almost 9, and their two cats. Byron feels grateful to have been given the chance to realize his dreams and working together intends to help you realize your own dreams.
